Supervision Services

Melissa provides supervision services for practitioners who are further developing their skills and who are continuing to grow along their professional journey. Whether you are an MSW student, a professional who has just graduated or an experienced therapist, she is happy to offer consulting services to you in your private practice. Melissa also provides supervision services for her interns and Independent Contractors. She has a particular focus on the Gottman Method.

As a Registered Social Worker with a Master in Social Work and a Supervisor Candidate with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), Melissa is qualified to offer Supervision to Social Work students, Social Workers, Registered Psychotherapists and Qualifying Registered Psychotherapists with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Melissa is happy to supervise Master of Social Work interns who are interested in learning about working with couples. She is a Certified Couple and Family Therapist (CCFT) with the Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Clinical Fellow with AAMFT.

Please note that Melissa practices psychotherapy under the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), not the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Melissa meets the supervision requirements set out by CRPO and OCSWSSW.

Melissa has extensive training in the Gottman Method, and leans heavily on this approach in her work. She also has training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Prep-Enrich, and SYMBIS. In addition, using a Strengths-based, Mindfulness, Holistic (Systemic), Culturally sensitive approach, Melissa likes to work together with her supervisees in a collaborative, sensitive, challenging and supportive manner. In her work with supervisees, she helps you with clinical tools and strategies, supports and guides you along your clinical journey, facilitates insight, and fosters recognition of your own personal strengths and areas of growth. Supervision usually involves a combination of session debrief, reviewing video recordings of session, and live supervision.

Feel free to book a free 30 minute network meeting by clicking the "Book Now" button to discuss further and to see if we are a good fit. The 2024 investment rate for one hour of supervision is $100-$120 for weekdays and weeknights/weekends respectively. This is $50 less than the client fee, in an effort to support the next generation of therapists. Dyadic or group supervision is also available at a further discounted rate.
